I forgot to say: I added a "Skype (D-BUS)" account, not a "Skype" one; the latter works.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Do you get the same with Maverick? Thanks in advance.

I have the same issue with Lucid, however the error manifests itself after a random period of time. It definitely seems to be related to the skype plugin, as skype is closed at the same time. I've included a backtrace.

Pidgin told me something that spellchk.so is involved, but pidgin also crashes without it.
