Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

when I start my computer, Ubuntu One shows the cloud with the exclamation mark. if I wait for about 5-10 minutes, it connects itself. but if I try to connect immediately by clicking the menu item "Connect", it crashes. although it doesn't happen, if I try toconnect via menu item after certain time the system is up. and it also doesn't happen, when after the crash I start the client manually from the "Applications"-menu.

I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One is not working properly for you. If you would like
to help debug the problem that would be greatly appreciated. You can do the
following in order to provide important details that will help determine the
root cause of this issue.

1) Quit the Ubuntu One client. Right-click on the Ubuntu One applet and select
'Quit'

2) Open Applications->Accessories->Terminal, then run the command:
mv ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log_old && mkdir ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log

3) Run the following in the Terminal to open/create this file:
gedit ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf

#Add the following two (2) lines to this file and save:
[__main__]
log_level = DEBUG

4) Open Ubuntu One Applications->Internet->Ubuntu One

5) Let Ubuntu One run for a while, copy some files into your Ubuntu One Folder.
Then attach the following logs to this bug:
~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon.log
~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon-exceptions.log

You can attach logs to this bug report by clicking the 'Add Attachment or patch'
button at the bottom of the page. Thank you for filing this bug report and
helping to make Ubuntu better.

Dear Mitch,

I followed the advice. Ubuntu One now crashes more often and generates reports. and there also appeared mismatch between the status (synced or offline) and the icon in tray.

@ altima. Thank you for uploading the requested logs. This particular bug has already been reported and is a duplicate of bug 458393, so it is being marked as such. Please look at the other bug report to see if there is any missing information that you can provide, or to see if there is a workaround for the bug. Additionally, any further discussion regarding the bug should occur in the other report. Please continue to report any other bugs you may find.

The current workaround for this issue is to right-click the Ubuntu One applet -> Select "preferences" -> set "connect on start" to "never". Note that you will need to manually connect in order to be able to sync your files after doing this. This can be done by left-clicking the Ubuntu One applet & selecting "connect".

@ petri - Please file a separate bug report & attach your Ubuntu One logs to the new report. Your issue appears to be different to the one reported here. Thanks in advance!
