Installing any science-* metapackage installs all science-* metapackages, that is all science applications, instead of installing only the specific category applications

Bug Description

OS: Ubuntu 9.10 x64.

Installing any science-* metapackage, installs all science-* metapackages, that is all science applications, instead of installing only the specific category applications.

Some of these metapackages also install obsolete (version 8.3) postgresql packages instead of the current (version 8.4) ones.

Also, removing any science-* metapackage, does not result in the removal of the related applications.

Also removing all postgresql packages, does not result in the removal of the applications that need them.

Unnfortunally no one has handeled this in support time.

In actual Ubuntu versions this is no problem anymore:
