Bug Description

I run a kubuntu 10.04 with a german setup (keylayout, textes etc). After installing the proprietary driver the key-layout is changed to us-standard layout . This is the small "problem", the big problem is, I don't know how to revert this.

Regarding to my xorg-logfile (attachment) the german layout is loaded, but everywhere in the the system(login-screen, workspaces,...) the us-layout is used. After the login I have to run "setxkbmap -model pc105 -layout de -variant basic" to get back the right layout. Surprisingly in the console (eg. ctrl-alt-f1), the german layout is used.

the layout-modification trough the KDE-subsystem is disabled.

the logfile shows that it's indeed using 'de' layout (and installing a driver doesn't change that). You've probably changed something in the KDE settings which made it use 'us'. Not a bug.
