Bug Description

Binary package hint: brasero

I'm doing some focused desktop testing and today's item is Brasero. The test case that fails is the attempt to make a VCD from a video file. I feed Brasero an ogg video file. It then seems to successfully convert the file to MPEG2. However, once it attemtps to burn that image to a CD-R, it fails with an "unknown error".

I've attached a log file from two failing sessions. One was an attempt to create an svcd and one a vcd.

This is using Brasero 2.30.0 from the Lucid 64bit install on my laptop.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. A new version of brasero is available in both Lucid and Maverick and we are wondering if this is still reproducible in any of those versions, May you please test and give us of feedback about it? Thanks in advance.

I still encounter this problem using current Brasero (2.30.2) in up-to-date Lucid 64bit. It appears when using .ogg- as well as .mpeg-files and trying to burn it to a VCD or SVCD in PAL or original format (havn't tried NTSC). Attaching log-file of burning process. Changing status to »New«.

An addition to my first comment: I cannot even burn an image to a disc if it is a VCD image I created with vcdimager.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
