Unfortunately can't reproduce that because is something that appeared on the LCD monitor, not at painting of the images.
And since some days didn't notice It happening anymore. I guess it was corrected by one of those many updates.

Tentatively marking as fixed. If this turns out not to be fixed, please reopen it and attach a picture (either a screenshot, or an image from a camera, or a short video clip) so we can see precisely what's happening.

The descriptions seems very similar. I've noticed someone have posted a video. It's a bit a different: my flickering appeared very quickly. And since some weeks ago, it became real rare to happen.

Could you also try adding “i915.powersave=0” to the kernel boot line, as in bug #538648? I think this is probably a duplicate.

I'm experiencing it as well on Asus UL30VT (GMA 4500HD & Nvidia G210M, Nvidia being turned off). Everything works OK when I turn off Compiz.

Although both video and 3D work ok, these glitches are much more annoying then they seem at first sight. I'm really looking forward seeing this fixed soon.

Has there been any development on this issue? I have the same problem on an ASUS PRO32A QX179X (basically the same as an UL30A) with Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics. What information can I provide to help? It's a really annoying bug...

I still seem to have this Problem on a Lenovo 510SL which uses an Intel GMA 4500HD. Just a short screen flicker. Like in the video. First i thought it had to do with overheating, but frequency of the occurring flicker stayed the same, no matter how warm the laptop would get.

I think adding «i915.powersave=0» to the kernel boot line might just have done the trick. i've been using the laptop for 2-3 hours now and haven't experienced any annoying screen glitches or flickers.
