I don't use Maverick but how will it change anything? Its related to libmtp.... not the kernal/distro isn't it?

Maverick provides a newer version of libmtp, which should support your device.
Please test and report the results.

Thanks!

Surprising turn of events... the libmtp which works on ubuntu lucid 10.04.1 DOES support my phone.... nokia 5130 but for some reason, it's simply just becomes 'dumb' and complains it can't detect the phone. It only works after a fresh reboot and connect. A nice phone icons appears with the phone model number. At that moment, I decided to run mtp-detect and got some results [below]. Also..for the note..the device did appear in rhythmbox :)
~$ mtp-detect

In Rhythmbox the device is shown for a short period, but apparently there is a problem in the communication. Any help or suggestions?
