Animation Add-Ons crash Ubuntu with ATI8500LE

With ATI 8500LE (have not tried with other cards)
Wtih Compiz/Emerald - the standard animations work fine, but when "Animation Add-ons" are selected and its effects are then enabled within animations for (e.g. window close,minimize, etc). Using those new effects will crash/restart Ubuntu.
