Bug Description

I just installed monodevelop on an up-to-date dapper installation and after trying to start it, I receive this error:

$ monodevelop

Unhandled Exception: System.Configuration.ConfigurationException: Cannot find /etc/mono/1.0/machine.config ()
in <0x000bb> System.Configuration.DefaultConfig:Init ()
in <0x0000d> System.Configuration.DefaultConfig:GetConfig (System.String sectionName)
in <0x0001a> System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings:GetConfig (System.String sectionName)
in <0x0001f> MonoDevelop.Core.AddIns.AddInService:GetAddInDirectories (System.Boolean ignoreDefaultPath)
in <0x00024> MonoDevelop.Core.AddIns.AddInService:Initialize ()

Does this have to do with a missing dependency?

This sounds like it's caused by a 3rd party repository. Where did you get mono and monodevelop from? What's the output of "apt-cache policy monodevelop mono-jit"?

I got them from the normal repositories, I don't use any other repositories.
I finally solved it by completely removing monodevelop and then running:
apt-get install mono
apt-get install mono-develop

I think mono-develop needs something that comes with mono.
