Confirmed in 1.1.26.
Does software-center use other mechanisms to select categories than synaptic?

ttfm is the "Time Travelling File Manager", but it's name begins with "ttf" which software-center appears to interpret as "TrueType Font".

Changed in software-center (Ubuntu):

This is the algorithm by which USC chooses departments and subsections: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoftwareCenter#Genre

If that algorithm is inappropriate or if USC is not following it, please report a bug on the software-center package. For example, bug 531570 covers the problem with ttfm.

When an item is in the wrong department or subsection, please report it as a bug on the package responsible.
