Bug Description

Binary package hint: bluez-alsa

After I connect a pair of headphones using Bluetooth Properties 2.28.1, sound still plays through the speakers. Running "sudo alsa reload" fixes this, but it should happen automatically when new headphones or speakers connected. This confused me until I figured it out; I had tried "sudo alsa-utils restart", which didn't make any difference, leading me to conclude my configuration files were broken.

http://wiki.bluez.org/wiki/HOWTO/AudioDevices doesn't mention this, and the instructions it gives are out of date, which is likely to lead to endless and unnecessary frustration. (I'd update the wiki page myself if they had a working new-account page.)

Normally the audio routing is handled by pulseaudio (which is used by the gnome audio preference).
So after connecting the headset you just have to switch the output (right-click the speaker, and select tab output).

for me it works fine.

For information http://wiki.bluez.org/wiki/HOWTO/AudioDevices is outdated.

seahen,

does it works when you switch manually the audio routing in the sound preferences, after connecting the device?
This is the way it should work and how it works.

Thanks for the reply.
