gcalctool 5.30.0 not showing bin/dec/hex radio buttons

the calc in programmers mode does not show the radio buttons with word size and base mode (bin/octal/decimal/hex)
it shows the input line (2 lines) then the bit definitions
it has a wrong character in the superscript/subscript buttons

The word size and base are in Calculator>Preferences. See the help for more information.

I've seen that word size and base are in preferences but is not so easy to make base conversions "on the fly" with that.
the old version has radio buttons that permits changing base (and obtain the conversion) with just one click.
As a programmer (old "C" style...) I use a lot the conversion between hex, dec and binary and the old solution with the radio buttons was easy and really fast (as nice as the clickable bits!)

Right, the superscript and subscript character are not wrong, they're just poorly chosen!

You may want to install the older version of gcalctool in Lucid if this functionality is very important:
