Is this still reproducible with latest package? it doesn't seems to be crashing in rhythmbox.

With the same configuration, I don't get quite that far: rhythmbox segfaults about a second after displaying its main window.

It works fine when I move wins around in /etc/nsswitch.conf so that it's after dns, though. Good enough workaround for me.

The rest of the system is doing fine with both variants, however - the crash seems to be confined to rhythmbox.

found the issue, it's a glibc crash and a duplicate of bug 369274
