Buld15 rc2: Empire fortresses burn down instead of upgrading

Bug Description

Found with the "geen plateau" map (not scenario).
Fortesses that are immediately at the border burn down when I try to upgrade them to castles.
They burn down, neighboring buildings too, the border jumps back and territory is lost.
This is reproducible and can be seen on 2 places ( red and blue border).

Disclaimer: I had no look at your savegame yet.

I assume that others have military influence over the point at the border as well. When you upgrade your castles, you leave them defenceless while they are upgraded, only then they are remanned with soldiers. IMHO it makes sense that they burn down if the soldiers leave them, because they can not be attacked while no soldier is in them. So I'd vote either to close this as Won't fix and see it as desired behaviour or to make soldiers stay in the castle while it is enhanced. This is a non trivial change though.

Meanwhile I have also seen enemy buildings burn down, because I had manned a military site.
I have not seen the actual border move when this happened.
IMO this is not the behavior that WL showed prior to rc2.
Borders in WL have up to now always been depending on conquering enemy territory, not
on guarding your own. (except of course when progressing into unclaimed territory)
This has always been a major difference to Settlers, where borders changed all the time.
So I think something has changed here.
I wanted to point that out, because I dont not know whether this was a volontary change.

Yes, it does make sense - and I'm neither pro, nor against the change -- merely surprised.

I would vote for leaving the behavior when upgrading military buildings as is. You can always build another military building next to it to stand guard during the update. Even a Sentry would be sufficient (except that it can easily be conquered, but that's another issue).

Seeing enemy buildings burn down when manning a site is strange though. Can you provide a replay of a game where this happened?

@nicolai
I have scanned through the replay in question, but could not identify the particular scene.
It's long and was mostly unattended.
I am starting to doubt my own observation, though I was sure at the time. -- Sorry.
If there is any truth in it, it will show again.
I'll keep an eye on that when I start the next game.
