Bug Description

Game does not start in windows anymore. It does not find a graphics driver. Occured i guess after Divans patch was fixed.

Yes, this only happens on Windows and was caused by one of the changes in rev. 6202, look at http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~flosoft/s25rttr/trunk/revision/6202.
However, I have no clue what goes wrong there, maybe the VideoDriverWrapper.cpp change?. One could revert the changes change and reapply it part by part. As always, I can't test on Windows, otherwise I would have done it already.
Simply reverting the whole thing would reintroduce the problems described in 522278 at the end.

Well the interesting thing is - the game works when i compile it from source myself - but not with the nightly (binary) version.

Hm. The Windows binary looks for the driver files in ./share/s25rttr/driver/ instead of just ./driver (its hardcoded into the binary, that's the way how I found it out).

This means one can play with the downloaded binary if you create the ./share/s25rttr path and copy the folders driver, RTTR and copy or move GFX, DATA into it.

This means it has nothing to do with my patch ;)

With help from NastX I'd guess this happens when the Windows binary is built with a local.h from a linux build still present.

Hallo,

habe das selbe Problem. Mit der Version 6202 die man laden kann geht es, aber sobald man das Update über die s25update.exe lädt dann findet er den Treiber nicht mehr und das Spiel startet nicht.
