Bug Description
On a side note maybe filter should be applied instantly on every input change. Over years I've got used that all alike search fields work instantly, and again got moment of surprise when I typed a value and nothing changed.

I added this in trunk, it was surprisingly simple thanks to the way wx.Timers work. Thanks again for a good suggestion, keep them coming :)
