I have a related problem, where indicator-applet-session is not accessible anymore and displays the date, which I think is a duplicate (image) of the applet next to it. Clicking on it does not do anything. I will take a screenshot next time I hit this.

Since i-a-s removes the logout and shutdown entries from the system menu (which I dislike very much BTW, at least provide a pref for this behavior), my only option is to logout from the command prompt with gnome-session-save.

It's been a while since I encountered this, but lately this has been happening more often again.

Yes, indicator-session, indicator-applet-session and indicator-me are installed.

I have found a way to work around this. When I open the panel's properties and change the size, the panel redraws correctly. I can the set the size to the original value, and the panel stays correct.

The strange thing is that when the panel is wrong, like in the screenshot, it doesn't react to clicks either. So it's not only a drawing issue.
