The network manager on the panel need to be a Application Indicator

Bug Description

The network manager (http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/5055/schermafdrukv.png ) on the panel need to be a Application Indicator (http://ubuntu.mirocommunity.com/video/161/application-indicators-demo-2 ) like the other Application Indicators on the panel.

Thank you for helping with making Ubuntu better by reporting this bug. However, this issue has been reported before in bug #518523. Please continue the discussion there.

It was decided to postpone this change to Ubuntu+1 because libdbusmenu and libappindicator aren't powerful enough yet.
