Bug Description
jockey-gtk doesn't use the configured Gnome http proxy, nor the 'http_proxy' environment variable to download from the network. If there is no nameserver configured in /etc/resolv.conf or if there is no network route to the required server, jockey gives a generic error without logging the fact that a networking problem caused the failure.
Ubuntu Karmic
jockey-gtk package:
b43 driver install.

Ubuntu lucid,
jockey does not use http_proxy environment variable that has authentication within it.

apt-get is working as well as synaptics. The first one uses the above said environment variable, the second one uses its own settings.
