Expected mumble to connect to server but it just hangs there and fails to respond.

The warnings from AVAHI are unrelated to any freezing problem. Please explain exactly what you are doing and what you mean by "freeze".

I'm having the same errors on kernel log:

but my mumble account connects just fine.
I'm running Lucid with kernel:

I've got a nearly identical output in console when I launch mumble. But it doesn't even start with me. Only the last two lines are different:
PulseAudio: Starting echo: alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-surround-71.monitor
Assertion 's' failed at pulse/stream.c:1898, function pa_stream_set_state_callback(). Aborting.
Aborted

I'm using Lucid with 2.6.32-22-generic-pae
