Bug Description

Binary package hint: postgis

Lucid currently ships 1.4.0-2, and in Debian the bugfix release 1.4.1 was not even packaged.
Debian skipped the 1.4.1 release and package 1.5.0 instead and now ships 1.5.1.

New Features, Performance improvements, including KML, and GML input support.
Bug-fixes from 1.4.1, 1.5.0, 1.5.1.

This is really important to our dev team and no doubt anyone else working in the geo space. Do we have a resolution date?

This will not get into Lucid proper post-release. No one ever did answered the questions in https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/geos/+bug/549165 .

Shortly these will be synch'ed into Maverick from Debian. If you are willing to do a bit of testing, it's likely these can be backported to Lucid. See http://launchpad.net/lucid-backports
