Bug Description

I installed the 10.04 beta1 using PXE network boot from here :

http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/lucid/main/installer-amd64/beta-1/images/netboot/netboot.tar.gz

If HPET is activated in the BIOS (either 32 bits or 64 bits), the kernel ouputs a warning at "hpet.c:392".

The error is the same with 32/64 bits HPET configured in bios.

It also happened during the installation. Deactivating HPET in Bios removes the warning.

I tried to run jackd (http://jackaudio.org/) with clocksource set to HPET, and it doesn't seems to have side effects. I'm not sure how I can trigger the HPET to see if it makes problems.

I'm attaching the standart outputs in next comments.

It looks that this is related at least to systems with Intel Core i7 family and also P55 chipsets.
