Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

I have two user accounts in my system.
I can without any problem login into the first (UID 1000), but when I try to login to secound account (UID 1001), kdm returns me to login-screen, or into first user (UID 1000) session (if I login into first user account before).
What logs needed for found problem?

Could you attach both /var/log/Xorg.0.log and Xorg.0.log.old please? I suspect that X might be crashing on the second user login

In this logs:
1. I successfully login into first user account.
2. Trying login into the second user account, but return into first session.

Another information, what can be useful:
1. When I trying login into the second I see black window on the screen for a half second, this windows disappears, and I back into login screen or first account (if I login into first user account before).
2. Login process stopped before I see login progress animation.
3. I found solution, for login into the second account: stop X session (/etc/init.d/kdm stop). login into the second account in text-mode, start X using "startx" command. But, you know, it's very strange solution.

Could you please reproduce this bug (ie: try to log in to a second user) and then run “apport-collect 548784” in a terminal? That will collect all the relevant logs and attach them to this bug.

There's no indication of any problem in those logs; the kernel seems perfectly happy, and the Xorg.0.log doesn't seem to have anything out of the ordinary. Perhaps there's something in other log files which the apport-collect hook doesn't grab - could you reproduce this again and attach all the /var/log/Xorg.* files, and possibly anything matching /var/log/kdm* (I'm not sure what logs KDM generates).

If there's nothing in *those* logs I'll have to put my thinking cap on again.
