Bug Description

This crash occurred on first run of KDE.

Previously today install from daily live Kubuntu .iso of 2010-03-25 had failed during manual partitioning; install from daily alternate Kubuntu .iso of 2010-03-25 had failed during software installation step after manual partitioning. Backing up to ncurses install menu of alternate install did not solve problem.

A previous instance of Kubuntu Lucid Lynx beta on this machine was broken. There appeared to be no WM or DE; problem might, however, have been with installation of nVidia driver which, after several days, demonstrated that it had been broken. Evidence: upgrade to kernel 2.6.32-17 failed to download headers file which would be necessary to build nVidia module into new kernel version.

I mention all this detail to put this crash of jockey into context.

Bug #451105 applies to karmic and a fix has been released.

The traceback on that bug reported "ImportError: No module named kdecore." The traceback on this bug reports "ImportError: No module named kdecore."

Is this a duplicate bug?
