Bug Description
When a context menu is opened on panel applets or notification area icons, and an option selected, the panel no-longer auto-hides.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set a panel to auto-hide
2a. Start Rhythmbox. Right click on its notification area icon and select "Play."
2b. Get the update-notifier to show its icon. Right click and select "Show Updates."
2c. Start Tomboy Notes. Right click on its notification icon and click on "Preferences," or left-click on it and open a note.
2d. Same as (2c) but with the Tomboy Notes panel applet.
2e. Right click on the Volume Control and select "Open Volume Control."
2f. Right click on the clock and select "Preferences."
2g. Same as above but with the Workspace Switcher
2h. Right click on the Trash applet and select "About."
2g. Right click on the Deskbar applet and select "Preferences."
Expected Result:
The panel auto-hides after completing any of the above.
Observed Result:
The panel does not hide itself until you mouse-over some part of it and then move the mouse out of the panel again.
Counter-Examples:
This bug does not trigger on the context menus of the Drawer applet or the Menu Bar
I'm using Ubuntu Dapper with gnome-panel 2.14.2-0ubuntu1
Thanks for your bug. All those points to your description are confusing. Is that simply the same issue than bug #58179?
