Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdevelop

If you're running Ubuntu, and have just installed the kdevelop packages (I don't know if the bug would go away if you had all of KDE installed), then when you tell Kdevelop to move a file to trash in the file selector, it will just delete it permanently instead.

To reproduce:
1. Open kdevelop
2. Click file selector on the side
3. Right click a file or folder
4. Click move to trash
5. Check the trash

It won't be there.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Thanks in advance.

Yep, the bug is still present, running KDevelop 3.4.0 (when new versions become available through www.kubuntu.org I usually get them, I don't remember if this is the starting version for Feisty but the bug has stayed the whole time I've been running Feisty).

The trash kio slave that KDE3 apps use for moving things to the trash is in kdebase-kio-plugins. (Not available in Intrepid and in previous releases probably wasn't dragged in to gnome installs)
Until a stable KDE4 version of kdevelop is released this won't be fixed since the trash kio slave lives in kdelibs in KDE4..

This has been fixed with the KDE4 version of KDevelop in the development version of Kubuntu 9.10.
