Bug Description

Trying to boot mythbuntu 10.04 without monitor connected does not work. I never get a ping reply. When I connect my monitor after booting, there is no signal being sent to it. If I leave my monitor connected while booting, everything boots normally and I can remove my monitor and it continues to work properly.

Fedora 12 had same issue, I was able to aleviate this by entering vga=xxx in the kernel parameters. However, with grub2 I am unable to see how to do this. I did find this entry in /boot/grub/grub.cfg: "set gfxmode=640x480", but this does not appear to do the same thing.

Howdy, and thank you for helping to improve Ubuntu by opening this ticket. I'm forwarding this to what I believe to be the correct bug project on launchpad, although it is possible that someone else may come along and redirect it further.

In the mean time, could you please check out http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1360157
and report back here if it helps at all? If not, you might search around for similar topics.
