not confirming the issue, can you mount it using gvfs-mount smb://servername?

"servername" is the name of your server box not what you should copy, do you get cpu usage raising when getting the issue too?

of course, for my test i use real dns name

Upgrade to Lucid seems remove gvfs-backends
I have install it and now it works.
i don't understand why :-(
