Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

In Kubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) Beta 1, Amarok reproducably crashes while scanning my audio collection.

In Kubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) Alpha 2, Amarok had no problems scanning my audio collection (LUKS- and dm-crypt-encrypted USB-harddrive, ext3). I'm not sure about Alpha 3, but in Kubuntu 10.04 Beta 1 Amarok reproducably crashes while scanning my audio collection. It starts scanning and goes on scanning for quiet a while, but it crashes before it gets ready.

As far as I could localize it, it's bug: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=227599

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 32bit and it seems that Ubuntu freezes when big actions are taken, like moving large files from internal to external haddrive or scanning my audio collection with amarok which is on the external hdd (ntfs).

thanks for future help

This error still occurs in Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat) Beta.

The error is repaired upstream (http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=227599). I don't understand why Ubuntu 10.10 still uses old and defective version 2.3.1 of Amarok.

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. While we appreciate your issue, it would be better if it was tracked at https://bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers can deal with this speedily and have direct communication with you as the reporter for more effective debugging.

Thanks!
