Bug Description
Binary package hint: debian-installer
Installing (K)Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) Beta 1 from Alternate CD, you can not set up an encrypted swap partition.
To reproduce this bug:
- boot from Lucid Alternate CD
- at "Partition disks", choose "Partitioning method:" "Manual"
- setup your /-Partition
- select your swap partition
- select for your swap-partition: "Use as:" "physical volume for encryption"
- change "Encryption key" from "Passphrase" to "Random key"
- select "Done setting up the partition"
- select "Configure encrypted volumes" and confirm "Write the changes to disk" with "Yes"
- select "Finish"
- select your "Encrypted Volume" and check that it is set to be "Swap"
- select "Finish partitioning and write changes to disk"
- when you are asked "Write the changes to disk?", select "Yes"
The installer ("Partition disks") will tell you something like: "The attempt to mount a file system with type swap in Encrypted volume (sda6_crypt) at none failed.
You may resume partitioning from the partitioning menu.
Do you want to resume partitioning?".
After you select "No", the following error message occurs:
"[!!] Partition disks
Installation step failed
An installation step failed. You can try to run the failing item
again from the menu, or skip it and choose something else. The
failing step is: Partition disks.

This error did occur in Lucid Beta 1 for the first time, as far as I remember it did not occur in Lucid Alpha 3.
I think that this bug is not a dublicate of https:/
I think it's almost certainly the same bug, actually. We can keep it separate if you insist but the cause looks the same to me.
