Could attach squid log files to figure out why squid failed to be restarted?

Cheers!

Perhaps the below problem is somewhat related to this one. When attempting to restart squid on a clean/updated Ubuntu Lucid Server, I find the following which is followed by squid server malfunction:

================
gerente@note1-server:~/server.squid$ sudo /etc/init.d/squid restart
Rather than invoking init scripts through /etc/init.d, use the service(8)
utility, e.g. service squid restart

Since the script you are attempting to invoke has been converted to an
Upstart job, you may also use the restart(8) utility, e.g. restart squid
start: Job failed to start
gerente@note1-server:~/server.squid$
===============

Sometimes, when trying again same command, the "job failed to start" command is not shown and squid server works:

===============
gerente@note1-server:~/server.squid$ sudo /etc/init.d/squid restart
Rather than invoking init scripts through /etc/init.d, use the service(8)
utility, e.g. service squid restart

Since the script you are attempting to invoke has been converted to an
Upstart job, you may also use the restart(8) utility, e.g. restart squid
squid start/running, process 19986
gerente@note1-server:~/server.squid$
===============

I got same error, i don't why.

squid stop/waiting
~ $ sudo pidof squid

See, above command says nothing. but it doesn't means squid is stopped. NOT YET
