Bug Description
When scanning at 1200 dpi with HP Photosmart C6180 over wireless network, the scan goes well until approximately 50% of the scan has been done, after what a little window appears saying that simple-scan can't communicate with scanner and all computers in the local network can't communicate with the scanner anymore, and even the http address of the scanner is unavailable until it is rebooted. Clicking on "Scan" button again crashes simple-scan if you try it twice. This is always reproducible.
Similar tests that work flawlessly, tested at least twice :
- xsane at 1200dpi, wireless
- simple-scan at 1200dpi, usb
- simple-scan at 600dpi, wireless
Steps to reproduce :
(Have a wireless multifunction printer/scanner)
1. Set photo profile to 1200dpi in Document / Preferences
2. Click on scan and wait.
Result : Scan fails
3. Click ok and click on scan again.
4. It fails, click ok and click on scan again.
Result : simple-scan crash
Terminal output, debug log and backtrace attached.

I have the same problem with my USB HP 4400c on Ubuntu 11.10. Happens while scanning with 1200dpi in both xsane and simple-scan.
