Bug Description

Binary package hint: parted

Attempting to install on an alternate root LV on the encrypted disk, there is no way I could find to get the partitioner to open the existing luks volume and vgscan/activate it.

Manually doing the luksOpen, vgscan, vgchange -a y results in an installable system where grub-installer fails to find the device to finish the install to, presumably because it never got told that we were using an encrypted disk. I do not recall having these issues in karmic.

I fixed this in Ubuntu 11.10. See bug 420080.
