Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

The toolbar at the very top of the screen is behind a window, and the File, Edit, View ect. bar is in front of it. I cannot minimize, and how I close is by File>Quit. Also, some windows do not open full screen, and then the icons and the box in the toolbar do not appear.

Other info:

I consistently get error messages that "plymouthd" has crashed.
I used to get error messages about how Ubuntu was in low graphics mode. Those stopped appearing as soon as this current problem started.
My mouse is a X when it is not over a program.
I am running 10.04 netbook edition.
I installed Ubuntu 3 days ago. This problem started 2 days ago. The first day it worked fine.

Hi akelly,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn` and `dmesg`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you're using a custom /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

[This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

Since the hardware is no longer available for doing troubleshooting with, we'll have to close the bug for now. However please feel free to reopen if you or anyone else has the same HW and can reproduce this issue using the latest development version of Ubuntu and is willing to do some troubleshooting with it.

Btw, friendly request - when a bug report is no longer relevant for you, you should close it. Otherwise it uses up developer time to review and close it ourselves. But thanks for getting back to me on the issue.
