Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdenetwork

I have krfb running on current kubuntu karmic 64bit. I connect to it from a Windows machine running tightvnc. It is impossible to input uppercase letters by using the shift key! Other combinations using the shift key do work though, for example selecting text by shift + arrow keys works. Both Computers have German Keyboard layout, but i have heard of occurences of this bug on english layouts too.
this bug is reported upstream as https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=182073, but there doesn't seem to be any progress.

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. But don't worry! This issue is being tracked by the KDE developers at: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=182073
Once fixed in KDE, it will be included in Kubuntu once the KDE version the fix is in in reaches Kubuntu.

Thanks!

Hi,

Bug 182073 has been fixed now (see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=182073). Could you please downport this fix as fast as possible to at least Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.

Regards,
Volker
