Quickly template for panel applets or widgets

Hi, quickly makes starting out a new project so easy. Something that seems incredibly challenging (but shouldn't be imho) is creating panel applets. I've tried a few times and failed. Since it's a fundamentally gnome related thing I think it would be a good addition for quickly.

I'm not sure if widgets / screenlets are in the same category as panel applets, but if they are I think they'd also make a good template.

Have you tried using indicator? This puts a menu into the panel and may be what you need.

quickly add indicator
Then remove the call to window.show().
