Bug Description

After a previous crash of the installer at "Configuring bootloader" (see my previous bug report) I started it the second time. The installer crashed at "Step 5":

"Step 4" is automatically skipped by the installer.

Please attach /var/log/partman, /var/log/installer/syslog and /var/log/syslog using the "Include attachment" link on the bug report's page.

Thank you.

Hi,

Just following up on this bug. Will you be able to provide these log files? (you will have to repeat the install attempt with the same Live CD to get them) Without the logs we will not be able to follow up this issue further. Thanks.

Closing this bug. Please reopen it if you are able to supply the requested files at some point. (you would have to repeat the install attempt with the same Live CD to get them)

Further information:

Since this is a Live CD based installer you have likely lost the original log files when you turned off or rebooted the machine. In that case the only way to get the log files is to reproduced the install procedure (with the crash) and upload the files directly from the Live CD.

To upload the files you need to run firefox from the Live CD session where the installer crashed, visit this bug page and click on 'Add a comment/attachment' at the bottom of the page. Click Browse and navigate to the requested files in /var/log.
