[This may be a duplicate of something - I can see some similar reports, but nothing exactly the same.]
I have Power Management configured to sleep upon closing the laptop lid. On this occasion, I shut the lid, my laptop went into sleep mode. Upon opening the lid, I was greeted with the "Ubuntu running in low graphics mode" notification, with various options I could chose. Upon choosing "Restart X", I was given a black screen which lasted indefinitely, and did not respond to the keyboard. Upon pressing the off button, I did get the Ubuntu shutdown graphic appear.
It should be noted that with Beta1 the laptop does not always correctly go into sleep when the lid is shut - on the occasions where it stays awake, I get returned to the GDM login screen (instead of the screen lock) upon opening the lid, and a crash report is still generated.

It seems to resume fine when I manually select 'Sleep' from the Indicator Applet.
