Bug Description
Binary package hint: xserver-
Hardware: Macbook 4,1
After updating to the Lucid Lynx Beta 1, the system no longer suspends and resumes correctly. When the lid is closed, the backlight goes off nearly instantly, usually an indicator that it has successfully suspended, which before the update took as long as ten seconds to do. On opening the lid however, the system hangs for ten to fifteen seconds and then presents the graphical login screen. Logging in occasionally presents an error dialogue claiming that the power applet is still running and presents "cancel log out" and "continue anyway" as options, with cancel hanging the system and requiring a hard reset. A quick search for fixes suggested updating the nvidia graphics drivers, which was followed through to no noticeable effect.

I believe I am affected by this. When I shut the lid of my laptop it does NOT sleep (despite being set to sleep upon lid close) as the power LED remains active. When I open the laptop, after a brief delay I am presented with the main GDM login screen. After logging in, I get the crash report.
