Bug Description

I have recently connected my Dell D420 laptop to Elotouch Intellitouch touchscreen monitor
the x server did seem to detect it (via USB connection) however the coordinates are reversed (up with down, left with right)

I wanted to start up calibration utility ts_calibrate found in Cannonical package : libts-bin

however the package seems to be badly broken:

root@Delik2:/etc# ts_calibrate
ts_open: No such file or directory
root@Delik2:/etc# ts_open
ts_open: command not found
root@Delik2:/etc# ts_test
/dev/touchscreen/ucb1x00: No such file or directory
root@Delik2:/etc# ts_calibrate
ts_open: No such file or directory
root@Delik2:/etc#

none of the key utilities seem to be working

By the way does anybody know how can I fix my calibration problem?

there are at least three packages starting with letters: 'libts"
but ts_calibrate seems to be assigned to libts-bin

affects: ubuntu → tslib (Ubuntu)

is there anybody tracking this?

Nobody is tracking this in Ubuntu - I came across it by chance. Report bugs in Debian to get a response.

The answer here is in the manpage for ts_calibrate - you need to set the TSLB_TSDEVICE environment variable to be able to use any of the ts_* commands and it sounds like your touchscreen is not appearing in the expected place. You need to work out which device is used and set that environment variable.

Changed in tslib (Ubuntu):
