Binary package hint: devede
I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 32 bit beta 1 fully updated. I used GTK -recordmydesktop to record a screen cast tutorial for youtube on the topic of the program OpenShot movie editor. All went very well however I usually use Devede to re-encode the output ogv video from recordmydesktop so that I can have HD video for youtube ie 1280 x 720 so as i usually do i altered the properties and the estimated video size was to be 219 mb. However the final output was only 24.3 mb and the clip was extended from the original 5.36 minutes to 16.48 mins. The output video played the first 5.36 mins but then locked at the final scene which was set as the remainder of the video. I've never had this problem before with Devede so I assume its a bug. We appreciate that this bug may be old and you might not be interested in discussing it any more. But if you are then please upgrade to the latest Ubuntu version and re-test. If you then find the bug is still present in the newer Ubuntu version, please add a comment here telling us which new version it is in.
