Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

in xconf.org the driver looks like:

Section "Device"
    Identifier "Device0"
    Driver "nvidia"
    VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation"
    BoardName "GeForce 7300 SE"
EndSection

and it seems also to work. the driver manager says: current nvida driver is active, but not used.

this message is confusing. it seems that the nvidia driver is used as the nvidia configuration application can be used and one can also set "appearance - visual effects" to "extra.

I'm sorry but that is not a gnome-panel issue, the bug needs to be reassigned.

affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) → ubuntu

Also, by default it shows that the legacy driver and the current recommended driver are both active.

Is that even possible?
