When attempting to reply to a mail, the recipient's address does not show in the 'to field'. When attempting to compose a new mail it is not possible to write or copy the reciepient's address in the to field. No cursor.

On using 'reply to', the screen that pops up does include the quoted text, but not the recipient's address. I have set up Thunderbird to automatically add a BCC address. This field is blank too. Clicking the 'to' field will not let me add the address manually, as there is no cursor.
The same things happens when I want to compose a new mail. No cursor in the 'to' field. This means I cannot send a mail.

Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.
You made this bug report in 2010 and there have been several versions of Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect 541742
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
