With Lucid moving the buttons this would be sorely needed.

Thanks Alex for report it, personally I think the process so that the package is included in Ubuntu is long, anyway I could create a PPA to distribute the package through APT.

Alin Andrei, my PPA and the packaging for Ubuntu is already created. You can copy the packages from here https://launchpad.net/~pabluk/+archive/ppa/+copy-packages if you need anything else tells me. Thanks

To install mwbuttons using apt-get or aptitude
  sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pabluk/ppa
  sudo aptitude update
  sudo aptitude install mwbuttons

tested in Karmic and Lucid.
