Shutdown and Log Out actions don't work

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

Shutdown/Log Out actions (for example Lock Screen, Suspend, Restart, Shutdown) sometimes just stop working. For example, I can not suspend my laptop neither via indicator-applet-session nor via assigned keys. No errors or warnings are displayed, nothing happens. Workaround is very simple:

 $ gnome-screensaver
 ** (gnome-screensaver:19099): WARNING **: screensaver already running in this session

After that I can lock screen, suspend, log out, etc.

Unfortunately, this is not reproducible. I tried everything to reproduce it, tried to repeat all the actions in exact order, but nothing worked. I'm sorry.

A lot of reliability fixes went into Lucid and Maverick to fix this type of issue. Are you still able to reproduce this issue with Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick)?
