Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

I'm using Rhythmbox 0.12.3 in Ubuntu 9.10

A lot of times when double clicking on an internet radio station to play it, an error message will appear saying

"Couldn't start playback

pa_stream_writable_size() failed: Connection terminated"

This error message also sometimes appears when a radio station is already playing, and when that happens, the radio station stops playing

Sometimes when double clicking on an internet radio station, the buffer for it will fully download and the station will play for less than a second, and then stop playing without giving any error message.

I don't know if this will help, but I'm including a debug text file showing both bugs happening, one after another. In this instance, the radio station was double clicked, the buffer fully downloaded and the station played for around half a second before stopping. Around a minute later, the "pa_stream_writable_size failed" error message appeared. However, it is rare for both bugs to happen one after another. Usually it is either one or the other happening.

Here is another debug text file of a similar bug.

What caused it was that I double clicked on an internet radio station, and it started playing. I then switched to a Firefox browser window, and the music stopped playing a few seconds later. When I switched back to Rythmbox a minute later, the "pa_stream_writable_size failed" error message was already displayed there.

Please could you upgrade to rhythmbox 0.12.5-0ubuntu5.2 and check if this issue is still affecting you? Thanks!
