Bug Description

The modules libasound_module_*_pulse.so in libasound2-plugins_1.0.20-1ubuntu8_amd64.deb contain / trigger a bug that make TeamSpeak 3 beta17 (current) use 100% CPU (even on multiple cores) and stop responding or playing sound. Compiling the source package from lucid main, alsa-plugins_1.0.22-0ubuntu6.* and installing the package libasound2-plugins made that Bug disappear.

TeamSpeak 3 is, despite its beta status, used widely used in online games. It uses FMOD for sound interaction, a library interacting with OSS, ESD and Alsa. Their developers seem to believe it is a problem between FMODs Alsa, the Alsa-Pulseaudio module, and Pulseaudio.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-plugins/+bug/485488 hits the spot but does not seem to fix it for good (not tested by me)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/karmic-backports/+bug/512868 might be related, I could not find out weather Skype uses FMOD

So we have two changes here; bug #485488 is truly a bug fix whereas the remove underrun handling (LP: #464008, #503174) is more a change of behavior. As we haven't had any regression reports from #485488 I think we could try making it an SRU, whereas I'm a little less certain about the underrun removal (although, we haven't heard any regressions from that as well, AFAIK).
