Happened after turning my eMac (USB 2.0) on with Ubuntu Lucid Alpha 3 PowerPC

this was detected by the "shutdown hang" apport hook. It means that some process was still running during shutdown when /etc/init./sendsigs was run, and it didn't get killed by SIGTERM:

There is no support on such deprecated version; that one has died long time ago.
