Bug Description

I would like to include another template from inside a template directly.

I've read that you can currently nest the render calls (http://webpy.org/templetor#cjabiokabamngnbigeeibddnihgllkggmousedown-target-element), but that is not really feasible.

Instead, I would like to use something like $include in the template file itself.

It looks like you've mixed this (wishlist item for a new feature) with bug 539805, which the commit appears to fix.
