Bug Description

After upgrading to Lucid the Applications in Gnome Shell are displayed as a flat list (instead of the sub menu structure used in Karmic). IMO displaying all installed Applications as a list makes 0 sense.

I for one like the flat hierarchy very much. I do not have many programs installed and can access them fast by icon recognition (when I am not using the finder).

I can see the problem when you have many applications though; I vote for implementing the old sub menu structure as an option.

Might be - but try using gnome-shell with ubuntu-studio (like I do) - it's not so funny there.

This feature request was implemented in the final release of GNOME Shell.

Considering that Lucid has a pre-release version, it will not be implemented there.
